About Praia de Canoa Quebrada

Canoa quebrada developped from a small fishermen village back in the late 1990ies into a big tourist town. Still it has preserved its small town charme as there are no tall buildings. The reason: it is all built on a big dune. The beach itself is vast to both the east and west. To the south there's a big area of dunes that extend into the countryside. On the beach itself you will find a few big restaurants/bars. Of course the main beach right by the town is crowded, but if you dare to take a 15 minute walk you will be all by yourself. That is, if no buggy is coming along.

What to do at night

In the main street you will find plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy the evening. Take a stroll and enjoy.

What to do in the area

Locals offer boat tours with the typical Brazilian fisherman boats called 'jangada'. You can also take buggy rides to the dunes. On these tours you can even stop for some dune surfing. If you are more into experiencing nature go for a walk into the dunes in the west. Be sure to bring enough water and a good hat as you will feel like walking through the Sahara.
